Leonard’s primary vocation is that of a church pastor. He did his undergraduate studies at Southern Caribbean University in Trinidad, West Indies and Oakwood University in Huntsville Alabama, USA. He went on to do graduate studies at Nyack Theological Seminary in Nyack, New York and Andrews University Theological Seminary in Berrien Springs, Michigan USA.

He is a devout student of West Indian and African history. A native of the beautiful Island of Saint Lucia, his parents are Lionel Joseph Laurencin and Ena Marie Laurencin. They are featured among the primary contributors of this priceless collection. He currently serves as the senior pastor of Advent Fellowship Church in Brooklyn, New York. His life and character have been deeply shaped by his commitment to serving his people. Such a unique background is one that has led him to write and master the art of synchronizing his knowledge of biblical history with his Afro-Caribbean heritage.

As a well-rounded, people-oriented minister, Pastor Laurencin is known to build cultural pride and economic independence among the less fortunate. He believes in the empowerment of all by practising what he teaches, especially when it comes to social justice, economic mobility as well as civil liberties.

He takes great pride in carrying forward the legacy of his predecessors. He is well sought after for his dynamic preaching and insightful lectures on the history of his people. His ministerial portfolio is outlined with seminars on spiritual growth, economic empowerment and studies on Afro-Caribbean history.

When in his presence, one feels inspired and motivated. He wears a smile that matches his gentle demeanour. He is noted to be calm under pressure and always willing to practise forgiveness and reconciliation. His dream and vision has always been to make this world a better place than the way he found it.
